Meet the Team
John Schutz
Managing Director, Financial Advisor
Since 1986, John Schutz has helped prepare his clients for all of life’s challenges, including education funding, retirement planning, passing wealth on to the next generation, and business succession. He deeply believes in education, and since 1992 has educated hundreds of participants on life stage planning through his Outreach and Engagement classes at the University of Southern Indiana. He capitalizes on relationships with local professionals and Baird-based experts to achieve the best possible outcome for each individual situation, no matter how complex.
John currently holds the Series 7, Series 65, and Series 63 securities licenses. He also holds Life, Health, Disability, and Long Term Care Insurance licenses.
He graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 1982. Since then, he has furthered his education, graduating from Wharton School of Business Securities Industry Institute in 1999.
John is very active supporting the University of Southern Indiana. He shares his time and talent to the USI Varsity Club, and is an avid fan of USI basketball. John also devotes his time and service to the USI Foundation Board of Directors, chairing the Alumni Major Gifts committee. John is a very active volunteer for the Korn Ferry Tournament held at Victoria National each year, coordinating housing for the players and also announcing at the tee boxes for several days.
He has been recognized as a 1Forbes/SHOOK Research “Best in State Wealth Advisor” for Indiana ranking #14 in 2023, #11 in 2022, and #9 in 2021 and he has also been recognized as a 2Barron’s Top 1200 Ranked Advisor for Indiana ranking #14 in 2023, #10 in 2022, #14 in 2021, and a 3Financial Times 400 Top Financial Advisor in 2018. He is also a member of the Baird Chairman’s Club, which recognizes the top 5% of advisors within Baird and was recognized in March 2022 and 2023 as a Top 10 Financial Advisor nationally out of approximately 1,300 advisors nationwide. John was also a member of the Hilliard Lyons CEO Club for over 20 years, which recognized the top 5% of consultants within the firm.
John and his wife Cindy reside in Newburgh with their pets. In their free time, John and Cindy enjoy traveling, playing golf, and spending time with friends, family, and especially their granddaughter.

David Perigo
Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor
David has been a Financial Advisor at Baird (formerly Hilliard Lyons) since 2013. He joined The John L Schutz Team in 2019 forming The Schutz Perigo Group of Baird. David helps clients build, protect, and eventually transfer wealth by providing guidance in areas such as investment management, financial planning, retirement income planning, estate planning, Social Security optimization strategies, and insurance. He and Felicia handle most of the financial planning activities for The Schutz Perigo Group.
Like John, David also believes deeply in the value of education, and has been teaching educational workshops around the tri-state area since 2014. He has been helping John teach Passport to Retirement and Social Security classes through the University of Southern Indiana’s Lifelong Learning Program since 2019.
Prior to joining Baird, David worked as an Analyst for Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Investment Banking Group in Chicago. He is a graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with bachelor’s degrees in both Finance and Accounting.
He currently holds the Series 7, Series 66, and Series 79 securities licenses and is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative. He also holds Life, Health, Disability, and Long-Term Care Insurance licenses.
David has been recognized by 1Forbes/SHOOK Research as a "Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisor Best In State" for 2023 ranking #26 in the state of Indiana! He has previously served as member of the Board of Directors for SWIRCA & More, is a past member of the Board of Directors for Vanderburgh County Farm Bureau, and supports numerous other local charities and organizations via committees and volunteering. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, David enjoys traveling, playing golf, and supporting both IU and USI athletics.

Felicia Hostettler
Vice President, Associate Financial Advisor
Felicia has worked at Baird (formerly Hilliard Lyons) since 1992. She is a constant proven resource for clients, regardless of the need. Felicia helps clients build, protect and eventually transfer wealth by providing guidance in areas such as investment management, financial planning, retirement income planning, estate planning, annuity guidance and insurance. She excels at sharing her knowledge with clients to answer questions and explain even the most complex situations. Felicia and David handle all of the financial planning activities for The Schutz Perigo Group.
Felicia currently holds the Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses. She also holds a Life, Health and Variable Insurance license.
Felicia and her husband Byron reside on the west side of Evansville and have two sons. Cody, the oldest, lives with his wife and daughter in California, while Devan lives here in Evansville. Felicia and Byron love camping, kayaking and traveling to see their granddaughter Nelli.
Michelle Vanover
Senior Client Specialist
Michelle joined the team in June of 2007. She was previously with Baird for 9 1/2 years. Originally from Southern Minnesota, Michelle graduated from Mankato State University in December of 1992 with a degree in English and Political Science. She works hand in hand with the team to make the client experience a great one. She is fully registered and also assists clients with paperwork and fund requests, as well as many other service related issues, including research regarding account or security history and estate processing. She also has extensive experience with 529's and assisting clients with college planning.
After work, Michelle and her husband spend their time chasing after their two boys and all their sports activities. In addition, she spends many hours at Mater Dei High School volunteering in the concession stand. She also volunteers at St. Philip Catholic Church, and spends many hours volunteering at the Evansville Fall Festival. She and her family love to travel, mostly to beaches on islands. She also follows the IU Hoosiers basketball team along with her family. In a quiet moment, a good novel will catch her attention.
Kim Vollman
Client Specialist
Kim joined The Schutz Perigo Group in July of 2021. She started working in finance in 1987 and she has not left the industry since. She has had the opportunity to serve in many different investment roles throughout her career, making her a very well rounded source of knowledge having over 25 years of experience in wealth management. Kim is fully licensed and truly enjoys working with all our clients.
Kim grew up on the west side of Evansville, where she attended Reitz High School and a local University. She now lives in Darmstadt with her family, grandchildren, mini horses, cats, dogs and a variety of other pets. In her spare time, besides engaging in a variety of crafts, Kim loves being outside. She enjoys identifying plants, trees, snakes and insects (especially spiders) and teaching her grandchildren those same skills. She loves planting a garden full of hot peppers, heirloom tomatoes and a variety of flowers. She participates in fundraisers for Equine Protection and for several other animal charities annually. Her bucket list includes going out west and watching wild horses while they are still around.
Christina Scherry
Client Specialist
Christina joined The Schutz Perigo Group in June of 2022. She graduated from USI in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Christina has worked in the financial industry locally since October of 2021 and is fully registered. She is passionate about helping others and is excited to be part of a team that believes so strongly in educating their clients.
Christina and her husband spend most of their time chasing their toddler son around the house, spending time outside or playing games. When the fall comes around, they all love watching the Green Bay Packers play, while enjoying the company of extended family. In her spare time, Christina also enjoys photography, crafting and entertaining friends and family.
